Hello everyone! Our names are Lauren Board, Lily Charter, Tenille Grant, Arinze Nzeako and Khushi Shah, and we are here to introduce ourselves as the Marketing Summer Interns at Skillsoft. We are each assigned to different departments, which you can read more about in our descriptions below. Throughout the summer, we will each use this blog as a place to talk about our experiences as interns and other aspects of our early career search. Feel free to read further to learn more about each of us, our interests, and what we will be doing during our time at Skillsoft!

Khushi Shah

Hello everyone! My name is Khushi Shah, and I will be a senior majoring in Marketing and minoring in Data Analytics at Seton Hall University. On campus, I am the Secretary of Marketing Club and Director of Finance in Delta Phi Epsilon. In addition, I wanted to stay connected to my culture and background, so I joined the South Asian Student Association Club. Along with working at Skillsoft, I will be spending my summer catching up with family and friends as well as making city day trips on weekends. This summer, as a Marketing Campaign Intern, I’ll be working on:

  • Partnering with the campaign managers to cross functionally design omni-channel and end-to-end campaigns for upcoming quarters
  • Helping the campaign managers in producing a “campaign on a page” slide for each segment, which will include projections for the outcomes that each campaign tactic will generate at the beginning of each quarter.
  • Shadowing and driving the execution of paid media and email nurture series while partnering to consult with the digital strategists on web conversations from those channels.
  • Assisting with marketing operations team to ensure all Salesforce campaigns are set up to allow for proper tracking.
  • Aiding the team prepare biweekly readouts of performance and recommendations on optimization activities.

While I shadow and contribute to all the campaign management elements discussed, my focus will be on parenting to deploy paid media and streamline our processes to market. I look forward to reporting out on my progress at the end of the summer!

Tenille Grant

Hi everyone! My name is Tenille Grant. I am a content marketing intern here at Skillsoft, reporting to one of Skillsoft’s Content Marketing Managers. I am currently a student at Rutgers University in Newark, NJ pursuing a degree in Marketing, a concentration in Social Justice with the Honors Living Learning Community, and a certification in Women’s Leadership with the Rutgers Business School Women BUILD program. I am entering my third year at Rutgers University as a senior, as I am graduating a year early in May of 2023. On campus, I am the Vice-President of the P.E.Y.T. Womyn organization and the Social Media Coordinator for the Black Organization of Students. Previously, I was the Women of Color Leader for the Honors Living Learning Community, working remotely during the pandemic. I have participated in the Rutgers TeamUP program, the Rutgers Peer Mentoring program, and the Rutgers Business Student Transition program. Freshman year of college, I had the privilege of writing the first featured article to be a part of RBS Voices for Rutgers Business School, which has been the highlight of my academic career. In the article I detail the importance of discussing race relations, racial inequality, and the Black Lives Matter Movement. I am so excited to be interning at Skillsoft for the summer! Thus far, I have assisted the content team with blog posts, writing social copy for Skillsoft’s The Edge podcast, and promotional copy for social media channels! Can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Lauren Board

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Board. I am currently spending my last summer break as a Marketing Intern here at Skillsoft, specifically working in the brand and creative space. I am super excited to learn firsthand about what goes into the continued brand evolution at Skillsoft. In the fall, I will start my fourth year at the University of Virginia where I am pursuing a Marketing and Management degree with a track in Strategic Brand Consulting and Communications and a minor in Social Entrepreneurship at the McIntire School of Commerce. I am a very active member and event planner in my sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and am also a member of our University Programs Council Concert Committee where I help plan and staff musical events at UVA. I grew up outside of DC in Northern Virginia before moving to Charlottesville for college, and after graduation I am excited about the possibility of relocating to a new city to explore more. I had some practice living in a new city in the spring semester when I studied abroad in Milan, Italy and attended Bocconi University. During my time in Europe, I traveled to seven different countries, met amazing people, tried lots of new food, and saw as many sights as possible. Some of my biggest interests and favorite activities are traveling, discovering new music, thrift shopping, and spending time with my family and friends. I am looking forward to learning more about a career in brand management and marketing this summer while getting to know all the amazing people at Skillsoft, including my fellow Summer Intern Class!

Lily Charter

Hello! My name is Lily Charter, and I am from a suburb right outside of Boston, Massachusetts. I am a rising senior at Fairfield University, where I am a Communication major and a Marketing and Psychology double minor. Outside of my studies at Fairfield, I am an active member of both the Communications Club, and the Best Buddies Organization. Best Buddies is an international organization that focuses on creating more opportunities for friendship, employment, and leadership development skills for people with and without developmental disabilities. Outside of the club meetings that are run monthly at Fairfield, I am also a Peer Buddy, meaning I meet with my buddy one-on-one monthly throughout the school year, which I deeply enjoy. During my time as a member of the Communications Club, I have had the opportunity to hear and learn from many different professionals that work specifically in the Marketing field. These experiences furthered my interest in Marketing, which ultimately led me to Skillsoft.

This summer, I am taking on the role of a Product Marketing Intern, and I will be reporting to the senior manager of the portfolio marketing division of the company. I have already been given the opportunity to dive right into various projects and have learned through numerous one-on-one meetings with my coworkers. Specifically, my focus this summer will be on helping to reach Skillsoft’s end-users in order to promote the usage and clarity of the new features that our platforms have to offer. I have truly loved my time at Skillsoft so far and can’t wait to see what else is in store for me!

Arinze Nzeako

Hey everyone! My name is Arinze Nzeako, the new Field Marketing Intern here at Skillsoft as of last week. I’m a rising senior at Fairfield University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Digital Journalism at the Dolan School of Business. I am a prospective walk-on to the lacrosse team, as well as the Executive Director of the Environmental and Social Governance club at Fairfield University, where I help coordinate special events, meetings, and guest speakers. Our goal is to work with students and Fairfield University’s board of the Dolan School of Business to jumpstart Fairfield’s ESG initiatives. As of last spring, I am also a member of the Golf club. As an intern for the Field Marketing Team, I will be working with the Field Marketing Manger, Senior Manger of Marketing Development, and Senior Director of Field Marketing. Throughout my internship, I will partner with the Sales team to drive higher sales velocity and close deals. I have learned a lot so far in the various meetings I’ve attended with the Marketing team and have already gained some valuable insight to help me succeed here at Skillsoft. I’m excited to work on progressing my skills with the Field Marketing team, grow closer with my intern class, and to work with such a welcoming and driven group of people at Skillsoft.

We hope you enjoyed learning more about us! We are all looking forward to our time as marketing interns this summer. Check back in to read more about what we discover!
